Accessibility Statement
This accessibility statement applies to the Boldmere Junior School website. It is run by the Federation of Boldmere Schools.
We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. That means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device settings
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate the website using just a keyboard, and skip straight to the main content of any page
- stop anything that moves, such as the news ticker
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader
We have also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.
Accessibility tools on every page
The Accessibility button at the top of every page opens tools to make text larger, switch to high contrast, use a dyslexia-friendly text style, highlight links, stop animations, use a reading guide, and have the page read aloud. Your choices are remembered on your device.

How accessible this website is
We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:
- many of our older PDF and Word documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software, and some are scans of printed pages
- the Translate menu, the map on our Contact page and videos hosted on YouTube come from Google and YouTube, and are outside our control
Our latest PE and sport premium report is published as a web page as well as a document, so that it can be read with a screen reader.

Non-accessible content
The content listed below is not accessible, for the following reasons.
PDFs and other documents. Many of the documents we publish, such as policies, reports and newsletters, are PDF or Word files that do not meet WCAG 2.2 AA: some have no headings or tags for screen readers, and some are scans of printed pages. If you need any of them in an accessible format, please email enquiry-jun@boldmere.bham.sch.uk or call the school office on 0121 464 3656. Documents published before 23 September 2018 are not required to meet the standard where they are not needed to use our services.
Third-party content. Google Translate, the Google map on our Contact page and videos hosted on YouTube are provided by third parties and are not under our control.

This statement was prepared on 22 September 2026. It was last reviewed on 22 September 2026.
This website was last tested on 22 September 2026 by Mediatopia, the company that built it. Every page was tested against WCAG 2.2 A and AA with automated testing (axe), and by hand: using the website with a keyboard only, checking that keyboard focus is always visible, zooming to 400% (a screen 320 pixels wide), checking that moving content can be stopped, and measuring the colour contrast of the text on every page.
